If you missed the Cosmetic Ingredients Trade Show 2022 | In-Cosmetics Global in Paris, we at Sanobiotec are here to let you in on fascinating topics and trends regarding cannabinoids and their perspectives in the cosmetics industry which we gleaned in the fair.
On the 5-7th of April 2022, Edvinas Grauželis, Head of Sales and Marketing at Sanobiotec, participated in the in-cosmetics Global event where manufacturers gathered for engaging talks, networking, and discussing the latest trends in cosmetics and personal care.
Edvinas shares his three insights in regards to the cannabinoids’ future in the cosmetics industry:
- The growing popularity of CBD and CBG as cosmetics ingredients paves the path for introducing minor cannabinoids and their formulations. CBD and CBG have been trending as cosmetics ingredients for quite some time. Both of these cannabinoids are also included in the CosIng database as legal cosmetics ingredients by the European Commission. In order to be ahead of the competitors, cosmetics manufacturers are exploring the perspectives of rare cannabinoids such as CBN, CBC, and CBDV, to include them in their formulations.
- It’s all about the quality and consistency of ingredients. When it comes to cosmetics ingredients, high quality is always a key requirement. When it comes to cannabinoids, the situation is the same. Manufacturers require supreme quality proved by full testing, batch-to-batch consistency at scale, and compliance to Good Manufacturing Practice certificates specific for cosmetics such as ISO 22716.
- Cosmetics manufacturers express the need for competent and experienced supply partners. The maturing cannabinoid market provides a growing body of scientific and cosmetical research. This provides further proof of the potential benefits of cannabinoids in skin care applications. However, in the discussions more cautious players of the cosmetic market expressed some confusion on the research and regulations, clearly showing their preference to establish a partnership with experienced partners. So that, they could rely on their partners to be advised in the process of launching new products with cannabinoids.
